Who is Coach Gail?

My personal sport background is in gymnastics. I was a gym club owner and head coach in the Denver area for 20 years, coaching pre-school age to National level competitors. Following the sale of my gym, I did four years of event work with the U.S. Olympic Committee, a Colorado sports and event company, the ESPN X Games, and the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. During that time I also earned a degree in psychology with an emphasis in sport psychology. I’ve been very fortunate to have spent the past twenty years working as a Mental Performance Coach with numerous individuals, teams, and coaches.
Growing up I was a competitive softball player and gymnast. I currently participate in several recreational sports and activities including cross country & downhill skiing, cycling and mountain biking. I’ve competed in numerous running and cycling races, duathlons and triathlons. Some of my most memorable events include the Pike’s Peak Ascent, the Cherry Creek Cycling Time Trials, The Triple Bypass and the New York City Marathon. The skills and concepts I teach my athletes are ones that I use personally in my athletic activities.
“I am immeasurably grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Gail throughout my young sports career.
I began working with her at age 12, hoping she could help me become a more confident player. Not only did she help me find my confidence, but she also helped me identify my strengths, set goals, and learn how to self-evaluate in a realistic way. I continued to work with her throughout all of my high school career, and she was a constant support during a transitionary time in both sports and life. Gail has helped shape me into the high-performance, Division 1 athlete I am today; the tools she taught me continue to differentiate me on and off the field at the college level.
She continues to inspire me to be a better person in all aspects of my life, and I would not be the person and athlete I am today without her.“

What is Coach Gail’s role as a Mental Performance Coach?
I view my role with my athletes as a teacher, advocate, coach, mentor, supporter and resource. The primary goal is athletic performance enhancement. However, this may also include methods for effectively managing some “off the field” and life issues as they affect and relate to performance. My goal is to provide my athletes with useful sport psychology information and practical mental tools so they’re able to thrive and excel in their sports. These are also beneficial life skills carry over into all areas of their daily lives.
“Helping athletes to reach their ultimate potential is my passion! I love the energy of the sporting arena and the challenge of competition. I genuinely care about my athletes and strive to provide them with the knowledge & confidence to perform successfully. Working with athletes to achieve their dreams and athletic goals is always the best part of my day!” ~ Coach Gail
